She must have had a vision of the cakes, at work, then resigned.  :snigger:

I rang and told her. She works as the PA to a 90yr old Company Chairman, & what with a 92 yr old Father.... - enough said.
It was simply the straw that broke the camels back.
Leaves end of May, more time for togetherness
She's just turned some of the damage into Bread & Butter pudding

Good: Wife got up really early today to prepare Cakes & Buns for her Fathers 92nd tomorrow  :)
Bad: i30 Club off line for some time
Good: Wife said, well you can put the cakes & buns in the ovens for 20 minutes - keep an eye on them, I'm off to work  :(
Good: Club comes back online  :D
Bad: Fired up i30 Club to see Vayda, forgot to check cakes - everything burnt to a cinder - went out & bought cakes & buns

Jeepers, (2nd time I've used that line in 5 minutes) but I feel for you Mike ( about as funny as getting up with a belly ache at 4.15 am)

He lost his licence today for twelve months for another incident in which he crashed his ministerial car into several others whilst driving home from a wedding.

She works as the PA to a 90yr old Company Chairman,

Our state's former treasurer was a chair man too (sorry, localized joke).  :D

+ Like the energetic amateur thespian and dedicated public engager that I am, I'll be spending part of today rehearsing my 'lines', the commands I will be giving as Royal Guard Commander for the Opening of State Parliament this Tuesday. The Governor RADM Kevin Scarce, the state's Senior military Officer from each arm of the Services and a gaggle of judges will receive General Salutes from my contingent consisting of a Colour Party, 100-strong Royal Guard, Police Drum Band, greys (horses) and an Army gun group (the Governor's salute will be a 'royal' one with a 19-gun salute).
- Wet weather plan is: we get wet.
+ I volunteered. :happydance:

Do you rehearse quietly, or at parade volume. If the latter, watch out for dudes in white coats.

Quietly here, parade volume tomorrow on base and in the city - must preserve the voice for the big event, a bit of a balancing act (no, no Russian bear or spinning plates - had to get in first!)

Remember Gonz, yell from the diaphragm, not the throat.

PARADE, GENERAL SALUTE, PRESENT ................ ARMS!!!  (knowing my luck, it is a Royal Salute)

Thx, Jamie. My cadet squadron has me doing drill far more often than the average Officer. The G gets the Royal, the others the General, so you're covered either way.

I wasn't certain if the G gets the Royal (I was only 50% sure, so I covered myself).  I remember on some parades we had four general salutes and then a Royal salute for the GG.  Reverse that when they leave.  Then we also had the Advance In Review Order, that looked good from the front.

Good luck with the parade.

Same as you describe it will occur with the exception of the Advance, but I've added a really cute Reverse March at the far end of the trajectory to correct the orientation regarding directing flank. He'll be making a 28min speech, however during which time we'll be back at his place out of sight. :victory:

Being there....done that...... I feel for you Gonz.......I was much younger than you going thru this and went thru the extreme butterflies of learning the lines....... I ended up creaming the commands , but had to check myself a couple of times for nearly going out of step....... being tall is no advantage in being in the guard(longer natural gait)....... all the best for this big days of yours.....you will do well......

Being the parade commander, Gonz may be the only one in step.   :whistler:
