Fatboy's covered the 19 question. I researched the history for the interview. These gun salutes started as a way of mutual disarmament as ships approached fortified ports. The Governor is one down from the head of state (Queen) so he gets 19. Odd numbers only - even numbers for deaths. :victory:

Kitti, quit while you're ahead - the woman flag party Warrant Officer WAS out of step.
OK, I'll come clean: the flag party Warrant Officer was in step. She was merely swinging her right arm while the flag party were swinging their left. I couldn't let Kitti go on thinking that, or not hold Phil to account for his mischief.

AS much as I'd love to meet you Misha, Russia is fairly well down Trish's list of places to visit..

Likely order is New Zealand, UK, Italy (where my mum was born) then maybe a cruise up the Rhine or something..  :undecided:

That is in the western part of Sweden, very close to Danmark (have never been there, but stayed for 5 days at Kustrup airport, Copenhagen).

+ I took the i30 on a 180-odd km trip today to stretch the legs on my way to a client. I went past the new wind farm they are building outside Jeffrey's Bay as well and snapped some pics:

This was on the way back - the pylons for even more turbines! They are absolutely humongous in size  :scared:

- I got my first stone chip! I went to the glass store straight afterwards and had them repair it. It doesn't look too bad but the thud the stone made when the car kicked it up against my windscreen is etched into my mind :(
