Indeed! I have spent most of the evening configuring the app on my tablet and duplicating the settings to the app on my phone. It is quite impressive, there is very little lag in the updates to the app (using Bluetooth) and it is so small it will permanently live underneath my dash plugged in 24/7. Out of sight and hopefully not out of mind

I am going to spend a few hours tomorrow and get some logs set up. I did about 7km with it plugged in and it gives a person a nice overview of...well, just about anything.

I currently have it set to log speed, air intake temperature and pressure, fuel pressure, ambient air temperature, engine coolant temperature, engine load &, oil temp, RPM, exhaust gas temperature, timing advance and throttle position and I will see which values actually pull through from the ECU.

Fully thing I did note is that at idle, my throttle is at a constant 6.7%, and when floored it shows as 85.1%. One would think it would have a range from 0 - 100%, but I am still figuring the little things out.

All in all I would recommend it to anyone that would like to know a bit more about their cars and that would be interested in understanding these readouts :goodjob:

Best of luck with your studies Gonz :goodjob2:

It will be over before you know it :)

- Got my first puncture with Hippo at 21500km of ownership due to a stupid woodwork screw that I picked up somewhere. It was a slow puncture as the screw was on the inside of my left hand rear tyre and it was worn down quite a bit. Well, it was slow until one morning it was altogether flat and I heard it hissing when I pumped it up to check.
+ This was the perfect opportunity to buy myself a tyre plug kit, so I did. Plugged the tyre and, after much swearing and sweating, all is well again

Mate, if you're talking about one of those kits where you poke the repair through from the outside of the tyre, be careful.
Most importantly, if the screw was in the tyre for a while it may have caused damage to the inside of the tyre. Hence removal and inspection is recommended. The type of damage would include a sever cut to the inner liner which could let go at any time and/or inner liner degradation (black powdery stuff inside the tyre - like black baby powder), which could indicate carcass weakening and failure down the track.
In addition, in many countries the use of those plugs will void your warranty on the tyre.
Even their manufacturers state they are intended as a temporary repair. They're great in the bush or on low pressure tyres like ride on mowers or quad bikes.

Hi SD

I appreciate the concern about the plugs, but this is only until March when I am having new tyres fitted all around.

I don't think the inside of the tyre was damaged as the screw was at the 12 o' clock position when it went altogether flat, so little chance of it touching the inner portion of the tyre (whew).

Because it was on the inner side of the tyre I didn't notice it until the tyre was altogether flat the next morning, but I am lucky it happened over a weekend and not when I would have needed to go to work.

I haven't put the tyre that I plugged back on yet as I wanted to check if the hole was 100% sealed, but it seems fine and is still on the 2.3bar pressure that I inflated it to initially :)

I can only back up Surferdude regarding those tyre plug kit.

I wouldn't want to drive 130 km/h knowing I had one of those plugs in the tyre.. there's nothing holding that plug in place from the inside like a normal plug.
Those tyre plug kit are, as far as I know, not legal here for safety reasons.
