Took off from study at 1500 yesterday and hit the number 8 at its limits non stop. Firty went flawlessly for a comfortable 8 hour ride on her CC powering up the occasional slopes without hesitation. We'll be doing it all again on Monday. :victory:

- I had a high fuel usage yesterday (normal for the aircraft though).  We converted dinosaurs to noise at a rate of 800 litres per hour, over five hours.
+ I didn't have to pay for it!!
- My roster is changing.
+ I joined a gym.
- I joined for an initial two week trial period, of which my roster has been cut short by one week.  (Paid for two weeks, can only use one)
- I don't get back to Broome until the two weeks is up.
+ The scenery at the gym is REALLY good.

- I don't like being investigated by the client about the decisions that I made during the flight, and things that were outside my control.  e.g. Why did you take this much fuel?  Why did you go like "this" instead of "that"?  "You need to declare an emergency when that light fails."  Why were you 1 minute late in taking off?  Why did the refuelling take so long?  Why can't you carry what we want you to carry?
- Client tells us there isn't fuel available on the rig, so we plan accordingly.  This means a reduced payload available for the client.  They have to offload personnel from the flight.  Suddenly fuel is available on the rig.  We can now take everybody.   :head_butt:

Knowing Gonz as we do I am pretty sure that it was an IED.  Apparently it went off with the first touch.

When I was in the military UD stood for Unlawful Discharge.  When my father was in the Army he said it was called an AD (accidental discharge).  I think Gonz meant to do it, and it wasn't unlawful, so it was neither.  I think it was unintentional, and maybe a little early.   :whistler:

+ I gave Firty a nice luxurious full body wash this morning in Adelaide straight after breakfast and then hit the road. This time, Phil, I had little interest in record-breaking at-limit driving, so I'll check the econoguage next time I'm driving to let you know how it went.

Pretty much delapan jam of non-stop driving on the jalan raya nomor delapan, counting mobil namanya Hyundai to amuse myself. I counted kira-kira seratus if you're curious. :whistler:

Nowhere near as much as I expected. She won't need a wash again until the weekend. Adelaide shopping included a $5 Bunnings hose kit to be used at any conveniently located tap on base. :whistler:

+ The economy figure for Firty's trip back from Adelaide on Costco Diesel was 4.3 :D

- Today's terrible stop-start Melbourne traffic nudged it to 4.4

It's sad that it requires so much fiddling to get going -- it is a really nice OS but coming from Windows it is an adaptation, but I think the next time I install Linux it will hopefully go a bit better :P

"ns" The SuperCheap that keeps on giving...

I got an email from SuperCheap Auto advising me of a $5 credit expiring the next day (17th) so I went down to Hoppers Crossing to collect my free $5 worth of goods.

I knew I needed a shifter to match the big hex nut on my mountain bike in order to raise the handle bar to a better height. At first, all the suitably sized shifters were parts of much more expensive tool sets starting at $42.

However, a bit more searching revealed a $5 200mm shifter (it later turned out to be -just- big enough for the job. I went up to the counter, beaming with my $5 prize. The kid behind the counter scanned my member's keytag and informed me the shifter was $4 (20% off all tools!) and I had a residual $1.20 from previous SuperCheap 'gift' credit.

So now I dived back into the aisles to hunt down a nice $2.20 add-on. I already had polishing cloths, cleaners and sponges from previous SuperCheap credit and I'm not a fan of consumables such as air fresheners and keyrings are dust collectors.

I finally settled on a gadget, a solar panel powered LED torch (yeah, I know, Dad joke material, but I might use it in the dark AFTER it's been charged by the sun) at just $3.

So SuperCheap have so far thrown close to $35 at me with a total outlay from me of 80c.

... and as a result of that 80c purchase there will be another credit appearing in my inbox soon. "ns"

+ I am well ahead with Supercheap Club credits (although I didn't bother with this latest one)

+ Tas Networks have apparently under credited 10,000 of the 22,000 solar customers in Tasmania for a total of around 2.4 million. They sent me a letter today saying they will be checking our meter in April to see if we are affected. Plus they are going to send us a cheque for $30 to cover any inconvenience either way... Refund could be in excess of $200 if meter is faulty (which I doubt as been very happy with our solar rebates)

+ My Big Brother Richard arrives tomorrow (He has shouted us premium tickets to the Longford Revival)  :happydance:
