Actually, I find Chinese easier than Icelandic.

Actually I'm lying - they're both Greek to me.

I did some 2000 kilometres over the Easter break, using the cruise control the majority of the time while out on open highway. We were based in the "burbs" of Adelaide so most of the long weekend involved pottering around in traffic playing tourist which would have knocked the average fuel consumption around a bit.
In spite of that my little diesel still returned 4.6l/100km over the entire trip.....Gotta be happy with that....  :D

Thanks to you and Gonz, Rusty, my job is looking less secure.   :whistler:

You have to be very happy with that mileage though.  It is pretty good.  I did some driving around Hobart and southern Tassie in my ute, returned 14 l/100km.  I have to support the industry that supports me!!

Cheers Jamie...  :goodjob:

Don't feel too bad, after all, your car's fuel consumption is only 3 times that of mine...and like you said, you do have to support the industry that supports you...

+ I am now a Qantas Platinum Frequent Flyer, with four months remaining on my membership year.
+ Business and First Class lounges for me from now on.
- I am spending far too much time in the back of a "burner" (passenger jet).
- Three different airlines to get to work yesterday (Jetstar from Hobart, Qantas from Melbourne, Airnorth from Port Hedland).
- I had four hours in Port Hedland.

I don't know how you guys do it. I have a family member who works offshore for CGGVeritas and the constant travelling would make me scatty

I got to Platinum almost all on domestic flights (which means a LOT of frequent flying) and thinking back, I was flying in my dreams - and that QANTAS chime in my headphones had entrenched itself in my subconscious in a very strange way.

Same here, Gonz.  My employer also books the cheapest flights, so that means the status points accumulate slower.  I do like my Bose Noise Cancelling headphones!!

- We have a European Wasp nest next to our house.
- Had to cut a path through blackberries, to get to it.
+ It hasn't rained for 2 months.
+ I sprayed the sods with a wasp nest spray.
- It rained for 2 days.
- They're back, in reduced numbers.
- Have to involve a pest control company to eradicate them.
+ It's free service provided by the council.

Fraid so.  :fum:

They've been showing an interest in our roof and if they get in there, we have to move out for 3 weeks, due to poison toxicity.

Not an expert on the subject, but Euro wasps are native to Europe, they can repeat sting and have killed animals and people. They are very aggessive. The closest thing to these is also the imported honey bee, who are also not very friendly, but can only sting once, then they die. They can kill if the victim is allergic to their toxin.

The Oz native bee makes less honey than imported types, but is totally harmless and does not posses a sting. They have been decimated by the Euro wasp.  :fum:

Euro wasps are naturally controlled by climate. Many nests are killed by cold temps experienced in Europe. Snow is very rare in Oz and as such, the wasps are increasing at an accelerated rate.
