+   Had my X-Rays and ultrasound done today
- during the Ultrasound with the amount of pain it involved,I f*#*ing near passed out,Had to stop them for a while and had to lay down or I would have keeled over.
Be interesting to see what the results are
+ got to do a few jobs in Perth that needed doing
++ picked up a few supplies we needed
last week I had to replace my old phone HTC ONE, got a Samsung S5,Got it from JB Hi Fi(Telstra dealer)as Telstra was booked out till next month,Anyhoo, bird did the change over said Oh! you should get a shockproof/water proof(resistant)case,Asked how much, she said Oh! only $99.95,I passed, she then said you should at least have a tempered glass screen saver,so if you drop your phone your less likely to break your screen,so I said whats one of those worth, she says Oh! only $36.95, again I passed and said I would just have to be careful till I can afford them.
So off to Ebay Got the same case she wanted to sell me $13.95 and free postage

++ It turned up today, and a nice surprise the seller sent a couple of screen savers(normal ones)and a touch pad stylist  :goodjob2:
+++ Happened to go into Red Dot today, low and behold I found a tempered glass screen saver for the S5 for $9.99

So Today has been more wins than losses,Supercheap also had the Penrite oil I use on special for $44.95  :goodjob:

Sounds good Rick! Hoping for good news regarding the ultrasound. Boy or girl? :P

- I have the worst back ache ever and nothing seems to be helping. I might swing by the doc and get a voltaren shot to see if it will help.
+ Hippo is going in for her 185K km service, kindly paid for by my cousin as it isn't payday yet.
+ We have internet again, but only a 4MB line and not 10MB as it should be. So tomorrow is going to be a shouting match again...
- I feel a flu coming on...

+New Woolies opened near home while I was away. Went in today for a sticky.
-Was a drunk guy trying to get in the bottle shop. VERY agitated and threatening the store managers who had confronted him for harrasing customers for money. He was lunging at one guy alot with his fist held high. Screaming at the staff and random customers.
+Stepped in between him and the poor fella he was focused on and got him to calm down, took him outside and had a talk to him.
-Bastards locked the door behind me LOL. Cops arrived about 5-10min after i'd convinced the guy to leave. Went back 1 1/2 hours later to get some rolls for tea and cops were just leaving after taking a heap of statements. Gave them my info and they went on their merry way. What an exciting first visit to the new Woolies hahaha.

Yeah right. Barely got acknowledgment. But I didn't do it for glory.

Nice work, Tim. On three occasions, all in Melbourne, I carried out a citizen's 'apprehension' until police arrived but that was for theft, damage and theft respectively. Your call on what was warranted in that situation.

As for me lately:

- spruced up in service blues for the duration yesterday to attend a presentation in the base cinema on some new national direction for cadet management: a nuisance loss of half the weekend but conveniently occurring on my base.

+ was asked by a nice lady flight commander to please pop in as a guest fitness instructor for her squadron's training weekend, specifically to drive her 60 cadets through an obstacle course. I guess I'll have to don the ESS sunnies, deployment t-shirt and DPCU trousers and boots for the full 'Commando of Biggest Loser' look.

Well done Tim! I hope some good karma comes your way soon :goodjob:

- I had a bit of a fight with Hyundai South Africa on Friday afternoon, but to summarise:

Hyundai phoned me at around 16:00 telling me my car is ready for collection. Prior to this, I spoke with the service advisor after he phoned me to ask if I wanted my one rear numberplate bulb replaced...I said sure, how much will it be? He gives me an estimate as it is an extra cost of R775, about AU$78

For one little bulb? So I told him to leave it and I will do it myself. On the same call he asked how payment will be made. As my cousin paid for my service, I said it will be by EFT, and I asked him to send me the invoice so that I can get the banking details. Funds transferred, I told the Service Advisor that I will be sending him the proof of payment and he said that would do just fine. I rushed down to Hyundai on the other side of town only to get told that the proof of payment doesn't have the bank logo on and will not work according to their auditors, even though they said it would be acceptable even without a logo. Fair enough, so I asked if I could return on Saturday (the banks close at 15:30 and it was already 17:00) to bring him the correct proof of payment. No sorry sir, we only open again on Monday. Crap.

Fast forward another hour and a few angry phone calls to a private banker, I have the exact same piece of paper in my e-mail client, except it had the logo on. They accepted it and off I went. So much fuss for a bloody logo

Rant over.

Wow $78 for a number plate globe. That's a stupid big ripoff. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Yeah Tim the labour rates over here are ridiculous, I think I worked it out last time and I came to the conclusion that the labour rate per hour that they charge was almost exactly 20 times what I earn per hour on my payslip

I don't mind servicing the car myself but I have an aftermarket warranty still valid for another year that I do not want to lose. After that it is fair game plus it gives me the opportunity to check my car out and see if anything needs attention :goodjob2:

Can I sit in and watch?

I can help with that!

Cost of number plate globe to dealer (bugger all) $5 max, but probably less...  :whistler:

I just checked with our hardware store, I can get one for the princely sum of AU$1 for a standard W5W bulb

maybe a video would be a lot better, Gonz...that way we (as in the forum) can see how well you handle the cadets and the pace you put them thru.......

as a bad side note for me...the orthopedic surgeon has told me that I am not allowed to do anymore 10 k runs as it is wearing out my hip joints. Apparently they are not smooth anymore and I can be looking forward to hip replacement in the future.......bugger....
