The top 10 will compete in the National Skills Comp for placings end of next month then 1st & 2nd place head to Korea 3 weeks after that for World Skills Comp.
5th last year, no messing around, I plan to be on the plane to Korea.

+ Finally got around to stripping my KLR, next step is sandblasting and powder coating the frame and then to start reassembling
- Optometrist said I be getting spectacles as my eyes are getting a bit worse due to my work. The optom said I do not need them but he said the sooner I correct them the better. Other than that, my eyes are still around 98% so not too bad. The bill was a bit larger than expected (AU$135) and my medical aid scheme doesn't pay, but I got antireflective coatings thrown in for free
- My holiday is half way, I go back to work on Tuesday...
-+ The municipality recently graded the farm roads, and straight afterwards we had a torrential downpour. Hippo is absolutely filthy, but turning off the ESP and throwing her through the muddy corners was as much fun as I'd hoped

Glasses price not too bad Phil. Some people pay $700 to $800 a pair over here..

I'm a tight ass and recently took out health insurance (so on the very day of expiry of the 6th month waiting period I got Trish and I two pairs each  )

One pair of sunnies and one of normal multifocals .. Trish's 2 pairs cost $199 after we claimed $250 off health fund and mine  $369 after refund.

That was at Specsavers (one of the cheaper crowds)

Madness! For that reason I stayed away from the name brands as well. I felt that as these are my first pair, I'd rather get some nice full rimmed, cheapie frames and determine how heavy I am on glasses before I shell out for the pricier ones.

I wore them for most of the day today and it will take some time getting used to them, but so far so good

Definitely, prevention is always better than cure! I have the opposite at the moment - items nearby are getting fuzzier, probably due to the last +-6 years of staring at computer screens for 8 - 10 hours a day.

They couldn't give me an answer as to why I have heterochromia though, or the fact that my two eyes see slightly different shades of colours on any given day.

Makes for interesting conversation, at least:)
