Hi Phil, Can you get a transfer in your job?  :undecided:
I'm finding it hard to concentrate with your avatar but I'll give it my best shot :p

In the past I know they did do inter-region transfers, but this was before I joined the company, yet there is a relocation clause in our contracts that might be a beacon of hope right now.

I am not at all unhappy with the work I do but I do feel the current region is a tad mismanaged and I have had the carrot dangled in front of me for the better part of a year with no change in position. In short, I am stagnating at the moment and unfortunately I get bored fast and I feel a change of scenery would do me good even if it is halfway across the country.

Most of our relatives are here still as well as the folks, but there is no girlfriend/fiancée or any kids (that I know of) keeping me here and if it's for the better I am keen on giving it a shot

I would say "go for it Phil" i had a couple of periods in my life where I felt like you do and I took the plunge (so to speak) It resulting in some short term upheaval, but I think in all cases it worked out for the best in the long run. I worked in 3 financial institutions in my first 20 years of employment and then another 8 or so retail establishments in my second 20 years. No regrets...

+ Seeing Sir Elton John playing at Geelong this Saturday...

(Sample of the woeful acoustics @ Etihad taken with my mobile...)

They haven't designed any stadium that can handle acoustics very well IMO. One reason I don't go to concerts, with the exception of "The Seekers" which was held inside an appropriate building. It was great.

I've been to a few concerts at Rod Laver Arena and they have all been fine so not to sure why Etihad was so bad....oh well, once bitten...  :undecided:
