How is that beautiful greyhound going, Kitti?
Our rescue dog, Shadow the Wonder Dog, is pretty settled here and brings us many laughs.
We can't imagine life without her, even though she is about fifteen years old already.

First day at Air Force Command and Staff College, Indonesia. 90 minutes of admin paperwork followed by 3 hours of rehearsing standing up and sitting down in unison, for tomorrow morning's opening ceremony.

Gotta love these 3rd world countries - smile and wave, Gonz, smile and wave!

Like -30 wasn't cold enough... this morning it was -35 when I arrived into work. :crazy2:  I can tell this is about maximum of what the poor little i30 would stand. Few degrees more, and I would have skipped going to work, as it would have been too risky. Imagine waiting for a towing lorry an hour or two in a stopped car which isn't providing heat...

Since last weekend, something in the front suspension (probably the shock absorber's upper end joint) has been squeaking loudly when going over bumps. That's pretty common nuisance in very cold, will probably go away when temperature rises to more human levels, only to reappear at next winter.

about -10 in Canberra.......I have experience....... I could never fathom out the coldness in Canberra, especially coming from Perth where these temps don't exists....bright blue skys, no clouds, sun out but its minus 2,3,or 4 degrees...probably due to the chill factor coming off the snow covered mountains

It gets down to the low minuses (-1 to -5) in Perth hills. We used to live in Glen Forrest and had some very cold winter mornings down in the valley complete with iced windscreens.

At this morning it was "only" -24, tomorrow will be about the same, but then it will get warmer less cold, about -8 in Sunday. I hope it stays that way for a while.

Had -20-25 this last week, car runs no problem, glad to see it seems to work down to -35, should not see those temps here though.
The house heating does not like the cold though, its struggling to provide 17c indoors running 24/7, expensive! Wish the previous owners had left the wood stove in the kitchen rather than stash it in the garage. (First winter in my house)

+ I believe Sweden is a very nice place, but there is a lot to be said for living in a temperate climate like we have in NW Tasmania.  :goodjob:

-  Although a dry hot summer is causing issues with bush fires... :undecided:

+ Had a good day today with the youngest son near Launceston.
+ It was an event called "Powercruise".
+ It basically involved me driving my ute around Symmons Plains racetrack with other "like minded" individuals.
++ Had lots of fun in the ute.
+++ I'm helping to keep myself employed, I was averaging 20+ l/100km.
++++ Max speed was 130km/h (mandated by organisers).
+++++ Did that in 3rd gear.
++++++ Didn't take that long to get to 130km/h.
- Other cars could get there faster.
+ Modifications are in order.
- Have to be guaranteed of a job before modifications.
+ Interview in Perth on Wednesday.
+/- Wednesday is 20th wedding anniversary. (+ for 20 years, - for not being home)

In the army we used to march for breakfast every morning. We were supposed to be first company in the dining hall. If some other company tried to make it before us, we used to run the march. Basicly run in march formation so that everyones feet mooved the same way at the same time. First few months we broke the form quite bad. But after 6 months of "training" we got pretty good at it. Nothing like chinese or north korean army, but good enough. After that we were first in the dining hall almost every morning. Definately worth it :-)

We were there too :D rocked up at 7.30pm and sat on the foreshore straight down from Berwick St, I was lucky to get out quick afterwards as we got home in 20 minutes :honk:

- I am in Grahamstown for work today and simultaneously had to bring through my friends' sisters' i10 (I have a lift back to PE this afternoon)
--- It is 35 degrees here and not a breeze in sight
+ Driving a Lancer on the way back home which should see 120kph with the aircon turned on at least :p
-/+ Driving the i10 made me realise how much I enjoy Hippo and how much I miss it today :blubber:
