Hi everyone!
Picked up my 2011 i30 on Monday. The headlights are meant to go out when I remove the key from the ignition, however mine stay on all the time. Hand book says they should go off to prevent the battery from being drained. Any suggestions how to activate this feature?

Hi there :)

Do they remain lit when you lock the car with the remote?

As to the auto light, if you remove the key, open and close the door, light will be off in 40 secs.

Unless you did some unusual actions, light will remain on, but the most it will remain on for 20 mins only, to prevent the battery from being drained.

I'm not meant to have the follow me home feature. My car doesn't have auto lights.

If I leave my head lights on, leave the car and lock it, the lights stay on :(

Back to the dealer, then.

Either there's an error or you have got the coming home lights whitout ordering it.

By the way, welcome to this great forum, Pedro81.

You don't have to have the auto lights feature to have the "follow me home" .. Lock it then wait 30 seconds and see if they go out (they do on the wifes base model 2011 CW SX

Thanks everyone. Just so you know and if anyone else asks, the solution is simple (even though my dealer specialist had no idea)
With the engine off, driver door open and lights on, turn the lights off, close the door and start the engine. Then when you turn off the engine remove the key and Len the driver door, the lights will go off.
