Today I finally took the vehicle into Hyundai service to see why it was stalling at slow speeds & in stationery mode.

REPORT:
Carried out full diagnostic scan of vehicle, no fault codes logged in any system. Checked Hyundai for any related bulletins related to this issue, none found. Checked Hyundai for possible software updates, none available. Checked for air intake system for blockages or leaks. Found throttle body to be badley carboned up, and recommend carrying out a throttle body & fuel injector service.

Just for reference, has it done many clicks? I assume they don't consider this warranty work? Hope it fixes it.

The Diesel has an anti stall function the petrol can be easy to stall until you get used to it (sounds like yours was more susceptible than some)

Hope it gets sorted soon. Good that they kept looking until they found something :goodjob:

I can only echo whats been said, and as Dazz says the petrol one can be a real bugger till you get yer foot to have the touch of a midwife.   I was stalling all over the place for the first few weeks.  Now I can walk on eggs without breaking them

I do hope you get it all sorted Mrs i30 and under warranty too  :goodjob:

Found throttle body to be badley carboned up, and recommend carrying out a throttle body & fuel injector service.

I wonder whether contaminated fuel has been used and this has had an effect on the ECU to cause this carbon build up.

Plus has the car just used for short stop/start trips?

Any views?

but our user manual states using bio fuel in either the petrol or diesel will void your warranty.  :winker:

I had a test drive in a 1.4 Active petrol yesterday and never stalled once as I found it was similar to my diesel which has anti stall.

Anyone with the new Active UK petrol model confirm whether they have had stall issues?
