Thanks for that link.
There has been speculation that we wouldnt get the wagon so there you have it.
It's a shame because it looks great and has been a good seller in its current form.

Shame about this. I like the look of the new i30 wagon but must say less of a fan of current CW.

I would have considered it when it comes time to change our large family car for which an i30 hatch would be too small.

Things could change Con... over time.. Hyundai has the unusual situation of struggling to keep up with demand on most of their models.. There are plans to build a couple more factories  :goodjob:

i wonder if its possible to buy a cw from the UK and ship it to Australia.   I'll bet the import tax would be a real killer.  :fum: :disapp:

Bad news Hyundai, especially when you have one of the last affordable wagons left.

I bought my first Hyundai after 22 years of only Toyota Corollas because they don't have a wagon anymore either.

I don't want a 4WD and Toyota could only suggest a RAV4.

Perhaps they could introduce an ix20? I have 2 kids and need enough room to go away on holidays but don't want a Falcadore to commute in the other 48 weeks of the year.

NOT HAPPY, JAN!!!!

As a CW owner I'm pretty peeved by this decision but it's not the first time Hyundai have done away with a popular wagon model.

My first Hyundai was a Lantra Sportswagon. It was a great car, four years,175000k and only a faulty high tension lead failed.

When I went to buy another one, the Elantra range had replaced the Lantras. Guess what? No wagon. Hyundai lost me as a customer for seven years.

That's too bad. :scared:

We already stopped producing i30cw here, due to the introduction of new Elantra last month. However i30 hatch is still in the product mix.

There's two types of drops.
The first is like dropping your pants. Which is what this video is.
The second is like dropping your girlfriend. Which is what Hyundai is doing.
I hope this clears it up. ;)

It's a shame that they're dropping the wagon here also (Canada). I bought my Elantra Touring only because it was a wagon. And because there is a lot of headroom and legroom for the passengers in the back (for my kids!) And the back doors and windows are big so my kids can in easily and see better outside.

Now they'll send us a hatchback with that terrible sloping roof that they seem to like a lot since they're doing to all their models.

So goodbye luggage space. Goodbye headroom. Goodbye airy feeling with big windows. And no new hyundai for my next car. And I know 4 guys who bought the Touring, and all of them would not have bought it if it has been a hatch. They bought it because it was the cheapest wagon available here.

I wish them luck selling the new Touring here. With the old model they had a almost unique product on the market. Now they'll have to compete with every other hatch on the road, and the competition is hard. I don't think we'll see a lot of them on the road. Not like the current Touring, wich I see everywhere and everyday. I think it has been a great success here in the province of Quebec, but not in the rest of Canada and the USA.

There was a time in the 80's and 90's when almost every car model had a wagon version. Toyota Camry, Corrolla, Tercel. Ford Escort, LTD. Honda Accord, Civic. Chevrolet Cavalier, Impala, even Buick had wagons. And real wagons, with extra long booths. Not the sort of shy wagon wich try to hide it's wagonness, and pass for a hatch  :faint:

Maybe now I'll have to get a pricier european car because only them seems to get the fact that a wagon is the most practical and fun car on the road. Or a Subaru Legacy...

Sorry for the rant...  :blubber:

Don't worry about your little rant, Krakrak, I feel exactly the same way.

The CW (Touring) has so much more to offer those who want a roomier, slightly larger vehicle than a hatch.  Like you, I will not be buying another Hyundai, as I prefer the wagon and what it has to offer.

I am also sad of the CW's passing (in OZ) I'm thinking they may bring in a really basic version of the i40 to help fill the gap

Fortunately with Trish loving her car and only doing around 8000 kms per year we will be hanging on to ours for maybe 10 years  :goodjob:
