A new study shows motorcyclists are doing drivers a favour in rush hour.

Motorcycle riders don’t just save themselves time and money, they do the same for car drivers, and they also help to reduce the emissions of cars.

That’s the conclusion of a major new study by TML, a Belgian transport specialist.

Christmas week 1971 I was working casualty at Oldham Royal Infirmary.  So I set off for work on my motor bike and a lunatic paper shop man steering with his knees whilst he sorted his deliveries out, knocked me down.  I arrived at casualty that morning on a stretcher and went straight to theater to have my leg sorted, ya know, the one fractured in three places.  Oh and lets not forget the fractured symphasis pubis as well uh...

You keep the motor bike, I'll keep my car..  Thank you !!!!

In my younger days I've ridden pillon but never realy took to the bike culture.  I preferred the warmth and dryness of the car.

PS.
If that happened in today's ecomomic climate with all the cut back in hospitals they would be asking you to get off the strecher to sort your own leg out.

And no one ever gets injured in a car?

Would be really good if people could stick to the topic and not use it as a post for bashing motorcycling yet again....

I realise that, Daz...I just find it frustrating that people take the opportunity to "bash" motorcycling whenever motorcycles are mentioned.

It happens time and time again, mention something positive and someone has to try and drag it down with stories of some idiot on a motorcycle or how such and such got injured on one.

As for that photo, I suspect it's photoshopped as a normal motorcycle is gonna come to a stop when there's no hand holding the throttle open....

Generally I've no problems with bikers so long as they follow the rules of the road I'm OK with them.

I give them room on the road and when I'm coming out of a junction and a biker is on the main road I wait until they have passed before I pull out.
