  • 2012 GD i30 Diesel Premium
Hi folks,
thought I'd introduce myself here.
Have been a long time owner of previous Hyundais, now it's time to upgrade to the latest 2012 i30. Impressive to say the least.
Test drive is scheduled for Saturday at the local dealer. Hope to spend a long time testing the car. It is a Premium Diesel.

Question for Australian members is: Is there in the pipeline a towbar & wiring patch harness for the 2012 GD i30 in the near future? I would like to tow a small trailer mainly for a single motorcycle as the primary load.

Thanks for your time & welcome.
Cheers,
Steve

Welcome aboard mate!

With regards to the towbar, I can't see that there would be a problem - the i30 has had a towbar available since soon after it appeared in 2007/8..I almost bought one but the $600 has put me off for a while

Welcome    You might be the first Aussie on here with a premium diesel. Should be superb ....
Try and hit them up for a free towbar. I did in 2008 on our 1st i30. Even if they commit to supply one as soon as a factory one is available  :goodjob2:

  • 2012 GD i30 Diesel Premium
:P Thanks folks for your warm & friendly welcome!

Firstly, I have to say I don't own the new gen i30 just yet! Though, having completed a short test drive Saturday past, I can definitely state....this will be the next family car! So, drive report will follow shortly in a another thread.

Thanks 2i30s, I have contacted Hayman Reece, and they said that in they will be working on a new towbar in about 3 months time. The chap said they would either use the existing bar & modify the attaching plates...etc...add a few extra bolts....here...there and everywhere... I aslo asked him about a wiring harness patch for rear parking sensors and he said they would design the whole package. So, it's a question for Hyundai Australia to provide this package as a genuine accessory covered under warranty or go via the aftermarket mob without the factory warranty????

C'mon Hyundai Australia!

Thanks again folks!
Steve

I hope it is too (I would love a Premium CRDi)  :goodjob:

A Hayman Reece or other quality non genuine Tow bar would not be a problem if they are quicker to market  :winker:

 :D Thanks db08,
we are still in negotiations trying to obtain a change over price agreeable to both parties. It's close! Nudge a bit further this way & that.....

So, the prize is a Diesel Premium with mats, tinted windows & slimline plates in Creamy White. I'll have to read up on how to post photos.

Close...it's very close.....

Cheers,
Steve

  • 2012 GD i30 Diesel Premium
  Well,
as you can now see of my avatar picture, I'm a proud owner of a new GD i30 Diesel Premium in creamy white! Yeehaa! so excited. It's coming next month. Not in any rush just yet. I hope our experiences with Hyundai are a continuation with the previous Excel I had before as a run about. This car will take on the role as family duties car but will be my main mode of transport to & from work.
I hope to share my ongoing experiences with those interested how the GD series fares.
Thanks to all members who support those learning the ropes.
Cheers,
Steve

I am so looking forward to this car! Not simply because it's new...( though, that does help) but because I want to sample the latest interpretation of Hyundai/Kia design ethos. I work for a local car manufacturer and we know these guys are becoming bigger players... so do the other Euro brands.
Why did I not go local? Well, I just don't like what I see. I prefer not to see what I'm getting and make the ownership experience come what may.
Cheers,
Steve

Gday: well first of all, congrats on the new purchase. We bought the creamy white i30 GD CRDI Elite last week. We were told we had to wait 2 months for it and 3 days later I received a phone call to say, come over on friday to get your car  :goodjob:

Having had an Aurion ZR6 which was traded for a more city friendly car like the i30, I have to say i'm very impressed with it's finished quality and detail. We got it with all the plastic protectors available, plus all the floor mats and rubber mats for the cargo area.
Only done about 60kms due to a busy weekend bit I love it so far, the wife is driving it today... fingers crossed

Cheers
Argie
