So hi.

My name is Aaron and I live in Brighton, Tasmania. I'm a relatively young chap at 27 but have lived years ahead of my friends, being married, built our own home and had 2 kids already.

A week ago I bought a new grey 2012 i30 SX. I got it for $18,990. I must say I am very happy with it so far. The only thing I am unhappy with is the lack of audio controls and cruise control and this is how I found this wonderful forum. Planning to buy the audio controls and the wiring loom to allow me to later on add the cruise control as well.

Hi Aaron. 

I am Darryl (one of the founders of the forum) and I live in Devonport.

Hopefullly some time in the future we might be able to catch up.. I have met Members in Darwin, Perth, Melbourne, Gippsland and also various parts of Qld.

We had a Diesel Hatch for nearly 2 and a half years, now our 2nd car is a 2.0 Petrol CW (we got the cruise pack which added cruise and Driving lights for only $400) but the Wife missed out on Audio Controls (only being an SX) But she doesn't seems too fussed .. She loves her car  :happydance:
  • 2021 MG PHEV ( had 4 x i30 plus a Getz an Elantra and a Tucson)

I'm an import from NSW. Probably time to start calling myself Tasmanian though. Been here 17 years now.

Thanks guys. Hope to get involved as much as possible.

Before the i30 I owned a 2002 Hyundai Accent for 8 years (had that thing pulled apart so many times I knew it like the back of my hand). I only just sold it, after buying the i30. My wife has a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe.

I used to be a part of the Hyundai Performance forum as well as the a Hyper Australia forum in it's day a few years ago now. Not sure if anyone else remembers that.

We certainly like our hyundai's.
