hi all, first time post! long time viewer!
am a proud owner of new i30 2012 Premium.

Sadly today i noticed what seems to be a small defect with the stiching on my drivers side leather seat...
looks like one of the stiches is loose, or a couple...and when i push down slightly reveals the seat foam!

what should i do? would this be covered under warranty, car is only now a month old...? take it to a service centre to be looked at?.. is this hard to get fixed? etc.

thanks in advance, await your advice!

I'd be taking it back and asking for it to be sorted under warranty.

Ps
welcome to the club..

Welcome Brodie .. Congrats on your new car. (The Premium is a lovely motor)

Should definitely be covered under warranty. Would be an easy fix for a good upholsterer. Just make it clear you want it fixed invisibly and when it is, make sure they have done a good job without marking the leather, crimping or double stitching or anything..

What colour did you get? Did you pay extra for the Diesel?

Some pix posted via a host site like photobucket would be  :brilliant:

Pretty safe to say. I bought a blanking plate (the plastic pieces that fill the blank spots for switches etc) and have to wait 5 weeks because they don't even have one in aus.

Good news it is getting fixed tomorrow I did have the option to replace the cover but part would be adlesst 5 weeks and to be honest I'm fine with a good repair anyway.. Hyundai seem very on the ball here in aus. Am still waiting for a window seal replacment though which will take a few more weeks!

No. A shame that. Back in the 70's, importers and assemblers were required to hold a certain value of parts in country. And the figure meant plenty of parts even for my Renaults.

I must say, i am very impressed, they got onto it all so quickly...id put through an email enquiry to hyundai directly aswell, and they called me the next day, to advise it was absolutly going to be covered under warranty, obviously apologetic, had called my local dealer to inform them of the issue and to book it in and there cost.  got a call back today to confirm there were no problems. fairly impressed...

Great news :D

So is it actually sorted now? You mentioned it was going in today. Any "after" pics?

It's times like these I think we should have a section rating the various dealerships...

all sorted, looks brand new (u wouldnt ever know...) they took it to a local upholster who just took the base cover off, and fixed her up... could not fault it.

iv actually got her back in though, for a seperate issue, a knocking noise from inside the cabin somewhere... will post a seperate thread ;)
