New Accent on the way

Since our daughter finished her (2nd) degree and got a full time job she's finally ready to upgrade to old Corolla she bought when she came home from oversear last time. It's a 1995 Corolla Seca RV and has just about got to 150,000 klms which is pretty low for a 17 year old vehicle of which she's only the third owner.

So we went through the options for her a while back with new or second hand i30's and Imprezas high on the list but after a ride in her Aunt's Accent which I reported on here about last year, her decision was made for her.

I rang Sunco Motors at Currimundi where I bought my Hoondai and asked if the salesman who sold me my car was still there. He was. So I arranged to go see him and told him what was likely to happen then took Kylie back to see him last Saturday.

Will is a Scotsman from some little island off the west coast of that country but has an Aussie wife so he's pretty settled here now and, as we found out, extremely popular with the customers at that dealership. He's actually a Nissan salesman but was the only one available when I originally went in. And he has been great, even helping me with a workable suggestion when I was trying to get a "door only" key cut for my car to take surfing.

Anyway, the upshot of it all is that Kylie has ordered a basic Accent in Ocean Blue but probably has to wait about 8 weeks for one to arrive in the country. She's happy to do that although the dealership has a light blue one on the floor.

Once again, can't speak highly enough of the crew at Suncoast Motors. Will post some pics eventually.

Yair. Me too. It's not that she doesn't like it, just that she REALLY likes the Ocean Blue. And the Clean Blue is pretty similar to her mother's Corolla.

Nah. Hyundai OZ does this special deal. The basic model Accent is $16990 drive away. If you are buying further up the range there's some room to move. I did the same thing when I bought my i30 which at the time was $19,990 drive away.

It's pretty good buying - my black Accent was more than that when introduced in 2006.

Got a call today. Car has arrived. Three weeks before the worst case scenario. Will be registered tomorrow and she'll pick it up Friday or Saturday (depending on whether she takes a day off work).
