How long do u think a garage should take to find a fix prob mines been in for 2weeks now and do they have to get it fixed before a certain time limit

Don't think they would do that they had a tec from Hyundai over and that's what he said to fix they tried glow plugs but still white smoke only on start up just hope after striping head off nothing will go wrong with motor after and it's all put togther rite

It will be all documented, so any more problems (even out of warranty) should fall in your favour (I would imagine)

Hopefully I get her back tomorrow and see how it goes better be rite or il crack been driving a petrol and it's costing loads. Will let use all know fingers crossed

Quick update on the car it's been fixed thank god they replaced all the valve steam seals new glows and new injectors only took them two and half weeks not good for a car with 23000 on the clock but at least it hasn't smoked in a week of driving lets hope it stays good

On the other hand, it was such a rare fault they probably got caught with their pants down, but yes 2 weeks is too long. Any clues as to why this type of failure at23k.

None at all just some white smoke at startup they had the tec guys over two well that's what they told me

Glad you got it sorted, even though it took a while.

I know, as a costumer, it can be hard to understand why it sometimes takes a long time to diagnose a car.

Many people think: Just plug the computer to the car, an it will tell you what part to replace.

That is not true.

In some cases it requires a lot of manuel readouts from the car, help from the tec's at HQ servicedept. Maybe even waitingtime for a part that is not on stock in the entire country, as it is sometimes the case with rear faults.

It's not allways as easy to be the mechanic/technician with these modern cars, as the electric circuits is very complicated and very sensitive.

Yeh the only way they found it was by taken the manifold of and there they could see the oil come from the exhaust valve I've driven Hyundai from 97 and can't complain one bit bout them very very good carb
