Police were called to restore calm in eastern England after a cash machine started dispensing twice the money its customers were asking for.

The Lloyds TSB cash machine in Ipswich began dispensing "free money" to customers Wednesday after the bank branch had closed for the evening.

As word of the fault spread, a crowd began to gather, prompting arguments among those trying to use the faulty machine.

I remember a story about an ATM which had a perspex sliding cover.

A chap went to use it first thing in the morning and found a portion of curry and chips behind the cover.

Apparently there was a delay in the cover dropping down from the last user.  Someone passing put their chip on the ledge to tie their shoe lace or some other activity and the cover dropped trapping the curry and chips. 
They didn't have a credit/debit card to open the cover, hence the cold curry and chip found in the morning.
