I saw this on the news yesterday and realised it was a Moonlight Blue i30 SX Hatch (FD series)

Considering it hit a truck and from the damage to the car amazing the injuries weren't worse..

Sure hope it wasn't any of our members...

Thanks for your concerns guys, but it was not me, anyway mine is white and I was not in Sydney.
Casula is a south western outer Sydney suburb.

One could say the vehicle is a 'write off.'  I hope the occupants recover O.K. :goodjob2:

Spot of T-Cut, she'll be as good as new!

Interesting that there was head injuries, the cabin looks fairly untouched and I thought that was what all those airbags were for?  Perhaps it was the airbag that caused the injuries?

Brian, from the report it seems the head injuries were confined to the truck driver...  :winker:

You beat me to it Rusty  :goodjob:

Must have been a right old impact for the truck driver to sustain injuries.. Usually in these situations the truck driver is treated for shock and the car passengers are critical or worse..

Suggests to me the i30 is reasonably safe vehicle.. :goodjob2:

I work with a guy whose sister hired one in Sydney a couple of years ago and inadvertantly ran a red light and hit the side of a tip truck at speed. The hire car was a write off after spinning crazilly down the road long enough for the daughter to ask, :What's happening Mummy?" And she had time to reply, "We're having an accident".
Uninjured though.
Although I doubt the Q & A were as calm and quiet as the above text might indicate. :scared:

Wow! sounds like a very luck escape... :sweating:

Police officer "Why did you run the red light madam?..."

The Driver " I only did it inadvertantly..."  :whistler:
