Here too. Along with tornados, water spouts, damaging wind and a storm surge. Other than that its pretty good.  :whistler:

I've shamelessly pinched that image off FB as it happens. I've been banned from going down the beach.  :blubber:

Check the storm surge at Sandgate. No fish and chips for anyone tonight.

There's some pics from Hervey Bay in that lot from the Courier Mail and it looks pretty nasty there as well. They a bit closer to all the unpleasantness that was centered on Bundaberg as well although that's headed down here now.

My Daughter's husband convinced her to leave Tassie 3 years ago partly because it rains for 9 months of the year and drips from the trees for the other three  :whistler:

They had several severe storms during the 2 years they lived in Perth WA (one of which wrote off their car)

They have had several more since living on the Sunshine Coast (the last 12 months or so) including the current almost Cyclone conditions...

We had a superb day today low to mid 20's .. we had only around 30 mls of rain in November and the same for December and this month we have had even less so far probably 12 mls or so ..

Do I believe in Karma (you bet I do)

90 km/h winds really stuff your fuel economy....

One of the girls at work stuffed a car, opened the door, didn't have a good grip and the wind ripped the door from her hand. Door won't close now and the panel is creased.....I suppose you should expect that level of vehicle strength from a Toyota.....

Beerman know what you mean,I'm either always going agin the wind or up hill, been a fairly nice day here today, was watching the special news reports today, I feel so sorry for all those(you) poor buggers up in Qld, three lives lost so far,100's of thousands without power, they say that homes are startinf to be washed away in Bundy,a lot of the homes and businesses which where flooded out in Brisbane have and will be hit again this year, lets hope they get some releif very soon.

Officially a disaster area now. Power has resumed after being out for about 24 hours. I've had to drink all the beer in the fridge to stop it getting warm.

Keith, that's terrible.
Did you enlist the help of others or have to do it all by yourself?

I did it myself. No point troubling others I thought. Another selfless act in a time of crisis.

On a serious note though, quite a few not so fortunate and a small number of fatalities as well in our region so not good.

First time ever an ex tropical cyclone has tracked all the way from North Queensland to the NSW South Coast.  It moved out to sea yesterday (Tuesday morning) after hitting us with 170 ml of rain in 24 hours and some strong winds.

Good for us, the crook weather sent the last of the terrorists (tourists) back home to Canberra. :D

Our town explodes in January from 20,000 to 120,000 :scared:

A pleasant 24C today.

Yes, I love January. Everyone goes to Batemans Bay and I can park right outside the door at the mall and whizz in for groceries in seconds  :happydance: but then they all come back   :disapp:

It's been quite nice in the Illawarra today. A bit of sun, a bit of cloud and plenty of cool but not cold.

85mph winds (according to the traffic & travel on the radio) on the way to work, and I can believe it.

Probably arrived to disperse what's left of the snow, that the torrential rain hasn't manage to clear
