Supposed to be 20C and partly cloudy today but the sun would burn your eyes out at the moment.. Will get to at least 22C or 23C where we are and probably 30C+ in our back sunroom..

I've got our fans on already... :goodjob:

Been up Sydney for Xmas they had rain up there but fined up & weather was mild for this time of year, i went into the CBD & was almost like a gost town a lot of restaurants closed for xmas break.
i get back down coast & found traffic jam's i've never seen that down here b4 , Judging by the number of ACT rego plates Canberra would be like Sydney  :), but the more the merrier, Have a Happy New Year all.

Balmy 25C here today, nice. I too was up in Sydney for a few days over Chrissie, up Lane Cove way, where my son lives. Rained a fair bit, but the i30 went real well, picked my travel times, up via Princes Hwy, Eastern Distributor, Harbour Tunnel, back via M2, M7, Hume Freeway, through Goulburn and Kings Hwy, cruise control most of the way.  650 km round trip, blew the cobwebs out of the pipes.

About the same time from Riverview (Lane Cove) to Batemans Bay, using Epping Rd, M2, M7, Hume Fwy, Kings Hwy, rather than Princes Hwy.  Took us 4 hours, 50 km longer, but much less traffic and faster travelling, used more juice of course as sitting on 100-110 km/h just about all the way.  Once I hit Epping Rd onto M2 did not stop for traffic or any lights, just a couple of 10 minute pit and water stops at Goulburn and Braidwood. :-[

Lester, thank you, & know what you mean have used m2 , m7 then the turn off to the gong @ winton.
but traveling from Riverview, epping road M2 M7 would be by far the best. i was near Becroft Epping Carlingford boarders. i left @ 4.30am , i always stop at Milton. don't always watch the time, but always enjoy the coffee at Milton & visiting Cousins.
Happy New Year

  • Sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.
The temp got to just over 62c here around 2:30pm.today. I managed to cook an egg in a frypan on the concrete on my back patio during the heat wave.

I took some photos on my phone and will upload them tomorrow.

Farkin. hot.

Mate love to see the photos, the poms will not believe you cooked a googy on the footpath. :snigger:

Stay cool m'lad.

The temp yesterday was ridiculous. We clocked it at approx 43°C in the shade. Temps in the sun were over 50°C when I had to pull the thermometer to use elsewhere.

Come over here, my friends. Nice and warm 5 ÂșC

It's supposed to be winter, but so far we have only had 3 nights with temperatures below 0.

This little storm cell formed up in the hills behind us this morning and charged down on us. I reckoned we'd get 2 or 3 mil. as it flew by.
It's stalled right above us. Been there for about 40 minutes now and still belting down.
Just approaching 1" in the guauge.

We had it the first night the wind changed to the south but it's pretty much not an issue now.
Certainly after the rain. Hopefully there'll be more rain tonight to settle the fire itself.

The Bureau of Metro saying 16.7 for Devonport and 25.2 for Maroochydore at the moment (but it is warmer where we live)

Our 2 outdoor gauges are saying 19.6 and 19.4 at the moment (which is quite comfortable)  :P :winker: :happydance:

We had a real hot arvo yesterday, reached 35C, had to whack on the house a/c on and partake of a few icy Mercury Ciders, to keep my fluid level up,  :lol:but then at tea time ye olde southerly buster blew up the coast, dropped it to 25C. Real nice today 25C, lubberly jubberly. :D
