Ok lest see if I can add anything,   I have had my i30 Elite 1.8 Auto since the 29 of Feb,  I have filled up a few time's  and I am keeping very strict logs.  I am not relying on the OBC but my own.  so far I have always been able to fillip at the same pump at the same servo. 

I am using Caltex Vortex 98  Ron.   At the moment I am doing a reasonable amount of Hwy driving,  but no freeway.  the Most resent tank I drove from Yass NSW to Thredbo.  (Once out of Coma) I did NOT take it easy.    On a side note the i30 handles so well 6k 4 gear and she lapped up every twist and turn I could give her and wanted more !!!    the reason I mention this is I still got 6.9 L/100km.  I am of course going to keep up my logs.   But as you can see it seams to be improving.

Oh I also have the Eco Feature  OFF

Awesome! This is very helpful. We've been doing our own experimenting with different kinds of fuel and just yesterday I switched the eco button off

Thanks,  I would love to know what sort of results you get with different fuel.  I an curious if I would get the same results with 95 or 91.

Errm I would love to share but our experimentation so far is not very technical, just mucking around (if we noticed a difference we decided we'd do it properly). We first filled up with 95 but didn't track it. Then on my brothers advice the 2nd tank was 91. We averaged around 9.7 litres per 100kms. This tank we put 98 and so far have averaged around 8.4 litres per 100kms. I think we need to do it properly though (also we still have about 3/4 of a tank and I've just turned off the eco function-I'd never make it as a lab technician would I?  )
