Just an update: Since putting the silico grease in the window runners over a week ago the problem has now been rectified. Wifes happy so i am happy. Once again thanks to all.
I was thinking of this thread when a lovely recall notice came in the post for my Toyota Aurion about sticky windows. What caught my attention was the statementIn some instances, the switch may become inoperative. In the worst case, if a commercially available lubricant is applied in an attempt to rectify the operation, the switch assembly may over-heat and melt.http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/1029256Perhaps one should be careful about the use of silicone spray in such circumstances.
