Japan's Daiki Ito is one of the top ski jumpers in the world but things did not quite go to plan at latest World Cup event in Sapporo.

Ito's has won four World Cup events in the past and looked to be in a good position to win a fifth in front of his home fans when he produce the second best jump in first round.

However, things went spectacularly wrong with his second effort as he lost balance plunging him dangerously down the hill.

Thankfully, Ito walked away from the incident unharmed allowing us to have a guilt-free laugh at his misfortune.

I was expecting a spectacular high speed fall from a great height.
That was just a little slip.
(And what I would have done too).

I am going to raise this post with the moderators.  I believe it is false advertising.  There was no 'jump' and it was by no definition 'spectacularly wrong'.  From the title I was expecting to see flailing arms and legs, unconscious skiers, barriers catching unmoving bodies.  All I saw was what I look like trying to negotiate the stairs after a dozen beers.

That is what I was actually hoping for.  The skier yelling "F***" while flying!!!  No whispering, "Gosh, my bum is cold," while sliding.

In true Japanese fashion, he probably just measured around 4 cm
