Hi All,

My name is Toon Boelens and I am living in Eindhoven in the Netherlands. I am 56 years old and just bought a Hyundai I30 I-Motion from 2011. Once the car is ready I will try to place some pictures here. (I bought it damaged in Germany)

Yesterday I tried to upload some pictures, but it didn't work as they are way to big (About 4MB each) I don't know how to get them smaller?

The damage from the outside is front bumper and hood, and the rear bumper. Behind the front bumper the horizontal metal bar is bended, and maybe the Radiator support is broken.

Behind the rear bumper the horizontal bar is damaged and the metal is a little pushed inside, but I think I can repair without replacing metal parts.

I'm going to have to check Bruce and Cyril tomorrow,I don't think they have any of the numbers on the fuel and the temp gauges,yeah I know I'm real observant.

Toon gald it's you doing the work,I hate doing body work but it doesn't look to bad from the photo,hasn't done many K's either

Hi Rick,

I am going to repair it myself, except the painting. I already bought a used hood, front bumper and rear bumper with some other small parts. From the frontbumper all inserted parts are still OK, so I only need to replace the bumper cover, and the metal bar behind (maybe also the radiator support) Headlights and fenders are also OK. On the back there is a small dent in the door, and the metal behind the bumper is a bit pushed inside (not the chassis)

Yes I know the steering wheel is on the wrong side, but it's even worse we also drive on the wrong side of the road

Cars in Germany are cheaper as in the Netherlands, also because we have BPM, a kind of tax on top of the normal VAT. When you Import a car in the Netherlands, you need to pay BPM, but how older the car, the less you pay. If you buy a damaged car, the BPM can become really low as it 's based on the current value of the car.

So this is the reason that I bought a damaged car in Germany. Once the car is ready, I have spent about 8500 euro in total. Buying a simular car in the Netherlands, would cost me between 13000 an 15000 euro.
