Hi all,

I was wondering if there was any way to wind the windows down in the i30 Elite without starting the car?

All that we've come across in the manual so far is the following: The power windows can be operated for approximately 30 seconds after the ignition key is removed or turned to the ACC or LOCK position.

Obviously this doesn't work so well when you have push button ignition.

My old Falcon allowed windows to be open / closed within 30 seconds of unlocking the car (admittedly, I haven't tried this yet but I presume it would work) but in general terms, is there a way to do it?

Check your owners manual for info on how to switch on to accessory mode. From memory you simply leave your foot off the brake and press the engine start button.

Bang on the money, thanks mate!

The supervision console even tells you you need to put your foot on the brake to start the car. Couldn't find it in the manual, though. There's a lot of manual to go through, though haha

True story!

It seems logical when you think about it, too. Wouldn't have thought to try myself, my foot is always on the brake when I press that button just in case.

Glad to help :)

Admittedly as a male, I find the idea of reading manuals repulsive, as I generally subscribe to the 'Jump in and try it out' school of destruction. I am however finding it to be more and more necessary given the wizbangerijiggy being put into all sorts of things these days.

You are not wrong. I've managed a Retravision and Radio Rentals store (amongst others) and  even I have had to read peak at a couple of manuals lately  :disapp:
