Mole hills dotted along Barkly Hwy.  Some are 150 cm tall.

Geez Brighton, sounds like you did it hard!
Glad you made it in one piece....

Just a bit of advice for next time...If you're not prepared to risk driving at night, you really do need to be leaving at the crack of dawn (or just after) if you wanna do the big miles.

While you obviously need to take breaks, you gotta get them over and done with and get back on the road as quickly as possible because stopping is the enemy of doing big distances....

You're right but if I didn't stop I would fall asleep at the wheel & get killed.  :(

I carry a pkt of "No Doz" just in case I start getting the noddys....

I also have munchies to eat on the run, such as muesli bars. It's also important to keep your fluid intake up.....drink plenty of water.
What are "No Doz"?

I did supply a link, Brighton...just click on the "No Doz"  :whistler:

I have now left behind Queensland & crossed the order into NT.  Stopped here for diesel refill even though the tank is very full.

On the far right, can you see the mole hill?  It's very tall.

There should be a "remove" button on the top right hand side of each of your posts, Brighton.... :)

Fancy a BBQ with the flies in outback Australia? I'd bet your Weber is not a patch on this little rusty.   :snigger:

By the way, it's my bottle of water & chips with gravy that I bought from Camooweal.  The flies are on them now.  :happydance:

Sorry about the hiccups.  I am still new to Photobucket.
Tomorrow I will post day 2.  Cheers!

Brighton, they're ant hills not mole hills.
Bloody white ants - don't take any home with you.

And when you quote yourself, which is fine, take the time to delete the photo link from the post. It just tidies things up a bit.
You're doing well, learning about PB, by the way.

Your links are still there and look OK. Have you visited your Photobucket account to see if they are still in your library?.. Maybe Shambles will suss out the problem

Yeah, I did think about ant hills but wasn't sure.  I did actually kick the top off one of them & there were channels. I didn't any ants but I only had a very quick glance & returned to my i30.

To put this in perspective. The distance from Mount Isa to Adelaide is something like driving from London to Kosovo. But with no cities or villages and pretty much no water or mountains. And a lot hotter.

Mmmm mind boggling
