Well I just do not know what to do. My "A" Grade Mechanic friend says with the high pressure Hyundai CRDI fuel system it is not wise to use Injector Cleaner on a regular basis. My Hyundai dealer says it is necessary at the 30,000 km service and provides a container of genuine Hyundai Injector Cleaner for me to use when I next fill the tank. My mechanic friend says the Injector Cleaner removes all lubrication in the very high pressure injector pump and this will in time result in early failure of the injector pump. He says do not use the cleaner until the i30 runs poorly. It is running perfect at the moment.I do not wish to void the warranty but my friend is a Diesel Expert who serviced my previous diesel vehicle from new and it did 530,000 km trouble free motoring.I value the opinions of Members of this Club and look forward to some advice and opinions. ThanksMy i.30 is a late 2011 Auto 1.6l CRDI.
Well, I can't see Hyundai recommending the use of a product that is likely to cause damage, especially when they are offering a 5 year unlimited kilometre warranty.

I like the theory "If the wheels not broken don't fix it" .
Further to my earlier comments, Hyundai's documentation states nothing about using additives.
So far we've had one hearsay comment saying that it is not wise to use injector cleaners regularly.Surely we need more than that before we shit-can them? Btw, it seems no one is actually saying they should be used regularly, not even the Hyundai dealer in question.....
