I am aware that there are a lot of posts on the position of the head rest.  I have never managed to get comfortable with mine and, when I discussed it at the Hyundai 'shop' they said they get lots of complaints on this issue.  This was a couple of years ago, so I'm wondering if Hyundai have addressed the problem with the newer models.
I have long hair which I wear up - since having my i30 (which I otherwise love) I have had to do my hair when I get to where I'm going.  If I wear my hair up, it doesn't matter where the head rest is, I'm looking at my feet instead of out of the windscreen.

Does your car have tilt adjustable front head rests?  The GD Elite and Premium come equipped with that feature, and may allow for extra space.

Don't wear your hair up.  Nicely brushed and flowing can be very attractive too.

ozwildflower, tilting the backrest just slightly further back makes a lot of difference with this issue  :goodjob:

Yes, after al it is a head RESTRAINT for rear crash impact protection rather than somewhere to rest your weary head while driving  :whistler:

Have read numerous complaints on various forums about the headrests on Hy vehicles.  Never had any issues in any of the Hy vehicles we have owned. Just checked with the other half and she agrees - and she has longer hair too - me, we'll no issues in that regard.

I concluded my thread with the fitting of a commonly available lumbar cushion hung vertically from the headrest posts to support my spine halfway up my back and now the headrest problem is no more.  :D

I happen to be very glad for the Hyundai adjustable headrests.

This is actually the first car I've owned where my head is anywhere near the headrest when driving in what's for me, a normal position. I have the headrest in the most forward position.

My wife on the other hand, can't feel comfortable unless the headrest is in the most backward position.

I will try the backrest and lumber cushion ideas, thanks.
I would try the scissors and hair down except that either makes me look like a female version of Einstein (I don't have the moustache) with 4 times the amount of hair.  :)

Yes, I have, thanks.  It helps with the head but I am now using a cushion to give my back support..also wearing my hair up but 'lower'..if that makes sense.
