The Financial Times reports that the long-rumored paid subscription model is coming to YouTube as early as this week. The strategy will help YouTube compete not only with other online outlets like Netflix and Hulu but also with major networks like CBS.

There are ways around it (read one article per day from 10 different sites) Often they are almost word for word anyway...

Interesting how the media industry struggles to adapt to the open nature of information now that anyone can publish. The contention that professional media outlets do a better job is routinely shot down by the poor quality of spelling and grammar in the headlong rush to get ahead of the bloggers, some of which are getting more attention than the establishment.
