This really annoys me how our stupid, inept federal government says that there is no issue and we still love China and refuse to acknowledge that China is a threat.
The Chinese have previously hacked Julia Gillard's computer when she visited China, Kevin Rudd's computer when he was foreign minister and visited China and now they have the full plans and computer server details of our nation's intelligence security services as well but apparently that isn't a problem either.
Are they really on this planet?

Then when JG was in China she gave them an open invitation for their warships to visit Australian ports. ?????
This really annoyed the U.S. and rightly so IMO.
I don't think she has a clue.

I can't wait until she is gone, but I have no time for Abbott either.  He's just as clueless.

At least he has reasonable policies.
I think the trouble is we tend to focus on the party leaders rather than the party.
I can't wait until Gillard/Swan are gone.
Roll on September.

It really doesn't matter which party is in power as, if you think about, isn't it the civil servants who actually run the country.

Ok they will look at issues and potential poicies raised by the politicians but they, the cs's, present their findings based on "historical info/data" and i wouldn't mind betting, that which i aint, they present their findings depending on what they consider to be the best option.

May be not for the country but for the party in power.

I think it does matter.
The "left" have their policies and the "right" have their's.
The public servants just do the wishes of the party that employs them.

For those outside of OZ, and those within who didn't know, in the history of Australian politics no Labour Party in government has EVER ran in surplus. Not once, not ever. That says it all.

The process goes like this: coalition pays off debt, brings the coffers into the black. When they get kicked out of  power, labour comes along and pisses the lot (and some) against the wall, promptly falling in the red. Just for the coalition to start from scratch and turn it around again. Repeat at every federal election, or two.

I don't think that is 100% correct - Paul Keating as an ALP treasurer returned a budget surplus in 1989/90.

The reason why the "hack" isn't an issue, is that we are doing the same to both our allies and those that we are "really interested in".  It's just that we cover our tracks better.  Don't be under the misconception that our allies aren't doing the same thing.

There is no real security concern though, there is not direct connection between the internet and our secret networks.
