For those interested,

A call was made and I can inform you that "I can make one but I can't give you anything on paper".  This comment was in regards to being ADR compliant.

agentr31, they can and do in fact make and sell 15 a week at present so there are no problems solved there.  Seems strange that they would leave themselves open to litigation like that if what you say is correct.

I'll give it a miss I think.

Typical whinging farmers,blame everyone except themselves,this has been an ongoing problem every since the first farms,before we came here hundreds of years ago,the native wildlife self regulated,as there was always limited and seasonal food sources,also water sources,since farming was introduced Australia wide,the food sources and water sources have become more abundant,naturally the increase of native wildlife,so they either have to share their spoils or what they wish to do,to line their own pockets lets just go out and kill the wildlife(bit like when their is a shark attack,lets not just stay out of the water or except the risk,lets just go out and hunt and kill the sharks and we are the so call superior race)we came here and invaded their land not the other way around,then if thats not bad enough,farmers then go and blame a third party,Gunns timbers,most farmers who have either sold land to or gone into shared farming with to yet again profit from,at the cost of the animals,which they helped create the problem.

I have just received this info and thought it might be of interest.

Bull bars can be fitted to some vehicles providing that they are certified as not effecting the SRS system by either the manufacturer of the vehicle or if by the manufacturer of the bull bar they can show that it does not affect the crucial operation (timing) of the SAS system. If they are not certified they should not be used. Voids the ADR’s and hence RWC.
 
The main reason for not using them on many new vehicles like the I30 is that like so many vehicles now days they have a completely different body construction (different strength steels with different thicknesses) and are therefore designed to crumple in a certain ways to absorb the impact energy. A bull bar when mounted can redirect the impact energy more directly towards the cabin by-passing the designed crumple zones which normally absorb a lot of the impact energy before finally acting on the cabin and its occupants. If crumple zones are removed then the impact energy into the cabin and occupants is potentially greater and hence greater potential of personal injury.
 
Minor impacts could also result in more expense and possibly structural damage, it has been shown that they are potential source of pedestrian injury, it may load up the front end of the vehicle due to its weight and projection forward etc. There are other reasons besides if you fitted one it most likely could affect your insurance.
