In 2011 a young woman driving a Golf was killed when, after overtaking a truck on the Monash freeway, her car slowed suddenly and was hit by the truck.  The coroner is investigating.

The Age newspaper recently published the story and has since been contacted by lots of very unhappy VW owners.
Yesterday (or Monday?) The Age was saying that VW had pulled their advertising from The Age

I have heard of reliability problems with the DSG transmission, but this loss of power that people are complaining about would be a big worry.

Apparently it's not just the DSG that are losing power, but some manuals as well.  Doesn't look good for resale value of the VW.  I might be able to pick up a cheap GTI?

This makes me wonder whether VW's DSG has a design flaw or a faulty part.
