    • Nessa Losing It...For Good
I always drive with my doors locked and when I got home, I had to get out of the car to open the gate...nothing unusual.  Thing is, when I went to go back into my car, my doors locked.  It's the first time it's done this.  Lucky I was at home I could get back into my car with the spare key.

Has anyone else had this happen or is it just me?

Yes, my 2009, 6 spd. used to lock me out, but the dealer replaced the rear tailgate locking solenoid, which also allowed the rear boot light work again.
I also had the drive away locking de-programmed it, it would be better if the system locked when a gear is engaged  as sometimes you need it locked before you reach 15 mph (when slowly leaving a public, possible unsafe, car park), it is easier to just touch the lock button as soon as you get in.
You could only get back in through the unlocked tailgate and crawl through, the doors would not unlock at all.
It sometimes did not start,  the immobilizer was also replaced, all ok now.
Excellent service & communication at all times from the Main Dealer, as usual.

Yes, my 2009, 6 spd. still does it and the dealer has had it for a week now, you can only get back in through the unlocked tailgate and crawl through, the doors will not unlock at all. So Hyundai have not managed to sort this out yet.
It sometimes does not start, so I used another vehicle, next day it started....the next day it did not.

Sorry, negative 1st postings are not permitted  :P  (Only JOKING)

Welcome to the club... Overall reliability of the i30 has still been impressive...Sorry to hear you have these silly faults  :'(

I've had it happen once - i think i must have knocked the lock on the door as I got out of the car. Had to do the hatch climb :D

Yes, they have just replaced the tailgate door lock solenoid, now the tailgate light works again.
They replaced the immobilizer as well.
