Haha Nah, not a fan of the standard active models. And the extra features in the Elite are tempting enough.

Don't mind the three door version, looks nice but not as great as the 5 door  :P

What I actually really like is the new i30, the sports i30 SR, looks awesome but it's definitely out of my price range.  It's supposed to launch at 28000..

I can still get the one that I was going to get in Victoria for 21000, 13000km. Should I just go with that one or keep looking? I was able to get him to ask his manager what he can do for me, whether it throw in some accessories for free or lower the price, so I'll see what he says when he gets back to me tomorrow.

Appreciate everyone's help too, at the moment it seems this will be a never ending thread haha.  :D

Alrighty..

I found a car in NSW, from a dealership (unfortunately) 5300km, White and they want $24000. I'm hoping to do what I did with the Victorian dealership and get it down to 21,000. Hopefully.. How much should I offer? Has heated seats, mats, etc.

Thoughts? Cheers everyone.

Today we put a deposit on a petrol automatic i30 premium model with a private seller. 13500km, $22000, 6 months registration, silver metallic, a few years free of car washes, interior lighting, car mats, sports pedals.

There's a small dent on the front, but not noticable so that doesn't bother me but a panel beater said $450 to repair which isn't too bad. There were also 2 small spots with loss of paint, but is easy to touch up.

2012 model, but purchased in January this year too so I'm happy.

Here's the car,

Very nice interior. :)

Friday, the bloke said he needs to sort out a temporary car before he leaves to go overseas.. But I did a background check and it says it's fine, no finance, no repairable write offs, etc. This thread will soon come to a close!  :P

Cheers mate!

Yeah, me too haha. He seemed a little suspicious to me, but my dad and mate of his said he was fine. It has a five year warranty, and no issues with the background check so hopefully there's no underlying problem where the car will explode once I take a seat in it..  :P

I guess if there was anything dodgy about it he'd want to finalise the deal immediately, so it should be all good.

Nice find.  :goodjob2:

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with the find considering I was going to pay $500 less to get an Elite model with the same KM. :D

Much appreciated mate.

Picked up the car today, really awesome interior and exterior, really enjoy driving it too. The contract that he signed says he paid $38,000 for it. Insane..

Will take some photos soon enough, but I was fiddling around with the Bluetooth and GPS, and for some reason the GPS can't find my device, nor will the GPS work. It was working originally and I went into some settings, an error came up and now it won't work..

The bluetooth won't find my phone either.  :p

Edit: Ended up fixing both issues.  :D

Quick question, my RAV4 '99 model always used E10, but I heard bad things about it such as bad for the engine, etc. Does anyone recommend any other petrol? I heard 91 RON or Premium is good? And are you able to mix them...? The bloke I purchased it off has been using E10, but I wanna change that to a better fuel.

All petrols can be mixed. There have been vsrying reports ranging from, no difference, to lower l/100k values using premium (but premium costs more to buy). IMO, standard fuel should be good enough. E10 doesn't give the same l/100 as it has a lower calorific energy value / litre, however, the promotional brochure says that due to increased oxygen, it burns cleaner and of course is somewhat renewable. I use it in my Commodore, no probs.

38K for an i30, insane is an understatement, even if it is an Elite.

Hmmm, alright, cheers for the help. I might just go for Premium Unleaded, or Unleaded. No more E10!

It's a premium model, haha. But still, that's expensive, haha.
