Hi,
Last month i purchased a new i30 active and I am finding issues with using my iphone Siri and the bluetooth. My dilemma is that I would like to use Siri (iphone's Voice Control) to be able to call people, so the idea would be that I would activate siri on my iphone and say "Call Home" and it would then call home and be all through the cars speakers and microphone. At the moment when I activate Siri, the Siri voice does come through the speakers perfectly but the problem occurs when it starts to then ring  the person I have asked it to, the ringing tone sound then goes through the phone and not through the cars speakers and this is the same for the phone call.

 The system work perfectly if I use the controls on the Hyundai dash to make the phone call.

Does anyone else have issues using siri through bluetooth on the i30 active?

I can't help because although I have an i30 Active & i-Phone, my phone is a 3GS.

Hmmm, not sure about this, as far as I was aware Hyundai's media system is not Siri compatible, the system in Hyundai cars is only a Bluetooth one to my knowledge.

At the moment I would suspect that trying to use both BT and Siri it will simply get confused, Siri being voice recognition specific to iOS whilst most car systems use their own voice recognition.  Unless Apple license Siri for free to car manufacturers then they will probably avoid it, on the other hand Apple may try and create partnerships with some (I would suspect premium brands) in order for those brands to try and tempt you with their special systems.

Time will tell......

Searching the t'interweb would suggest that Apple and Hyundai have created some form of partnership announced earlier this year, so future models may exhibit Siri compatibility, existing ones will be limited.
