I reckon my four Michelins are pretty quiet - a hell of a lot quieter than the Hero Atlanta's that the i30 came with when I bought it used. That said, the Centenary Highway approaching Springfield lakes makes the car sound like it's driving on bare rims!! What a horrible road surface that is.
I have just had a set of Federal FD02's fitted and they are very quiet, drove in the wet the other night and they felt good. So far I would recommend them

Can anyone advise how the Continental Comfort C5's would compare? A JAX tyres franchise is quoting $375 fitted for 4 tyres in 205/55/R16?Does anyone know how these compare to Michelin Primacy 3 ST or Yokohama ADVAN dbV551? Really confused!!

Really confused!!That's a pretty good price. I'd be grabbing them. I guess it's a 443 deal. But don't waste your money paying extra for nitrogen.
This is why I am very keen to discover whether Continental have truly made a break through with their new technology which includes adding a layer of special foam inside the tyre.
There are quite a few tyres listed in the thread, so I'll add some more.In Australia,Ruby had 4 new tyres fitted a few days ago and my 1st chance to drive, was today 100km.They are markedly quieter than the Hankooks, no db meter, unfortunately and very nice feel on the road. We have opted for the 50k guarantee offered with these tyres as I have been very disappointed with tyre performance, so far.The deal was arranged by Marzipan, I had nothing to do with it.The tyres are Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus 205/55R/16 91HHope your sitting down,Wheel align, disposal tyres etc. $665 Initial impressions ae that they roll with less resistance and the l/100 dropped by .1 lt. The last fuel figure wasn't cleared and reset properly (Marzipan), so this is actually more significant than first appears. We are hoping to recoup the extra cost in fuel consumption reduction over the life of the tyres.
Just to clarify, your installer is recommending 36 as a minimum. Higher is ok but lower is against what he's warning.
