Battery failure after 2.5 years on CRD1. Normal?
ISG, not a fan at all.
... I am pessimistic about their life. We will see.
I love the silence and the lack of fuel use when stuck at lights and in traffic.

My guess is that batteries in the GD i30 with ISG (engine stop and go) could well have a shorter life because they are called on to start the engine much more often. The batteries fitted are reputed to be designed for the harder duty - but I am pessimistic about their life. We will see.
I had a bad run with the original battery that was fitted to my 2010 diesel. It was replaced (a bit begrudgingly) under warranty one week shy of my car's first year. Its replacement is still there and hasn't looked like faltering after 2.5 years of its use.
