You mean you didn't go to the circus to see if the trapeze artist might fall, or the lion tamer get eaten or the speedway riders come to a terrible end.   Come on Phil lets have some honesty here.  <sigh>....   

All of these dangerous spectacles are a replacement for the Roman arena except it's now illegal to have lions eating people alive so we watch to see if peeps die another way.  That is reality, whatever else you may choose to believe
