Hi folks,

I bought my new i30 less than 2 weeks ago and am loving it.

I bought the CRDi Premium model simply because I'm sucked got sunroofs and the panoramic one just made me weak at the knees.  I had to go Red as well (though I've noticed it gets grubby quickly) .  I'm still coming to grips how automatic everything is.  Things have changed since I last bought my previous car in 2000.  The computer revolution has hit motoring in a bit way.

I was originally going to get a Prius C (to be a bit of an eco-tosspot)  but a mate explained to me how they aren't actually that good for the environment,  fuel economy not withstanding.  So after some research,  I found the i30 occupied the 'sweet spot' of price and functionality.

And I have to I'm happy with my choice.  It's a pleasure to drive.  The reversing camera is a godsend.  The proximity alarms are a bit freaky but useful.  And all the creature comforts inside are lovely.

Very happy indeed.

Great introductory post Tovrin.  :hatoff:

 :wttc:

I can understand why you are so pleased with it. The Premium Diesel is Awesome (just a shame they don't come in a manual - zippier and even more economical)  :happydance:

Don't think I've seen a red Premium so photos (hosted via somewhere like photobucket as per the instructions in our welcome section) would be great (please)  :D

:TutTut:  who you calling an eco-tosspot? I only buy it for the articles I only bought my Hybrid for the fuel economy, quietness and power benefits... :whistler:

I consider myself an eco-tosspot.  Sorry if I offered anyone.  I do tend to 'take the mickey' a bit. I think that me just being an Aussie brought up on a diet of irreverent British comedy.  ;) :)

I'll post some photos of "Scarlett" when I get home from work. (Yeah...  and I name my cars too.  Sad,  I know)  ;)

Congrats on your new car.  We love my wife's Premium Auto diesel.  She likes it too much and I rarely get to dive it.  :foottap:  I'm steeling it today .... and tomorrow.  :honk:

I wasn't offended Tovrin .. I "take the mickey" out of a lot of our members myself  :-[ :happydance:

Many on here name their cars. We even had a poll to name my previous i30, a moonlight blue 2008 CRDi (we chose Luna for that one) :goodjob:
