I'm sure our massive Aussie contingent would be letting the world know if it was true.

Deep south coast, New South Wales
There have been a lot of fires, & there has been a lot of back burning to reduce the risk this summer, thats in NSW. most seem to be under control now.
they were bad around Sydney & Central coast newcastle, & blue mountains & some in the Illawarra region.
Some of the fires where arson. we had some hot weather & high wind.
but thats just NSW just a small area of Australia about the same size as the state of Texas .
with that report it would just be showing where fires have been but they probably were not all burning at the one time. the bad thing is lives have been lost, peoples homes have been lost, people have been injured.
myself i'm getting all the cloths i'm not using that much and anything else & sending it to the victims & i think other members of the forum in AU should think about trying to help too.
i know this topic is about media , but what i'm talking about is a fact. like  year or more back in the state of Queensland we had devastating floods and we are all paying tax's to cover the long term costs of that.
just put yourself in the victims shoes & very close to Christmas so very hard for all the young families with children. i wish i could help them all.

My house insurance is just paid, at least I won't get clobbered until next year now, after all, we have to pay for it. I used to live in a high fire zone, no excuse for not adequately preparing your home IMO.

All the poor animals, killed or injured.

Very difficult time for those affected. Anyone involved in lighting the fires has blood on their hands now as well, shame on you. :fum:

This exaggerated situation was on our news service ..."Today" show two days ago, where it showed the top half of Australia on fire,....when in actual fact it should have been showing 4 areas in NSW.......
