Hi, I must be doing something wrong...I have tried with radio off (time and temp displayed) and with radio on, holding down 1 and 6.  But I don't get the firmware..  My car is an my11 (June 2011) CW diesel bar model with cruise/fog fitted.
I just had my head unit replaced today due to bluetooth issues..  Still can't get firmware details to show.

^-- the method did seem to change with the recent MY update. It's somewhere on this site but I can't remember where just now.

I'll update the OP if someone can find the updated instructions...

Mine's the same, for a 2009 model.

Has anyone heard of a way to update, or if there's any benefit?

What benefit would you be expecting to gain. That year vehicle was simply a radio / CD player. If it's working, leave it alone. You can't have Bluetooth, as the internal circuitry will not be installed.

It would nice if there were more options like displaying the track time remaining, track title wilthout mp3 extension, scrolling display...
I don't know if later models/revisions have any of that.

Sure mine does all that
