  • I love my SLX i30
Hi everyone.
It has been a while since I have posted any news about my i30 or my wife's. I am still yet to post a photo of my wife's GD i30. Anyway, that being said, I am factory modifying my FD SLX i30 for the last time now, I think. I am having a rear factory spoiler installed thus transforming my SLX into an SR albeit without the side skirts and 17 inch alloys. I can't find factory side skirts as an optional extra. So far, my car now has reverse sensors, towbar, tinted windows and a really cool owner that loves his i30,
I'll try to post some pics soon. Until then, stay safe everyone and drive responsibly  :victory:

My SLX has a factory spoiler so I guess that means I have a turbo-Diesel SR. :victory:

So must Be Cyril,he has the spoiler, the mags, spotties, nudge bar and a heap more, certinly wouldn't be swapping him for an SR

Speaking SR's,that is what first attracted me to the I30's and what almost turned me off of them as well

When I was researching for the purchase of my i30, I found the only difference between the SLX and SR in the FD range both in auto and manual was that the SLX did not have the body kit and larger rims. Everything else was the same between the two variants. So yes, you do have an SR if it already came with a spoiler already fitted unless you ordered it "pre delivery". Then it would be an SLX upgrade. Hope that makes sense, LOL :-)

Thanks Dazzler. Mate, I gotta say I will never stop enjoying my i30's :-). They are just so good to drive and comfy too. Did I mention a while back that I prefer my FD over my wife's GD? Yep, mine is better :-)

Old SR had a few other extras too (part leather trim and additional amp with Stereo etc..)

@ Shane (you are not the first to say that about the FD V GD)

Holy Cow! Here was me trusting the dealer who describes my paint job as Hyper Silver and now that I'm about to order paint for the front and rear spoilers, I check the passenger door jamb plate and my code is not NY but MAD - Carbon Grey Mist Metallic!

Has anyone else found this? The side skirts are described as Hyper Silver and they're a perfect match.

But wait!

GTCarLot lists the NY as Titanium Grey Metallic
PainScratch calls codes the Hyper Siver Clearcoat as FHM
AutomotiveTouchUp calls the NY Hyper Silver Metallic / Titanium Grey Metallic
ExpressPaint says my Hyper Silver Metallic is KM

My simple plan is to talk to a local repairer for his take on paint matching and based on that consider the $32 a can SuperCheap option. :whistler:

What would also be of interest is to ask all forum Hyper Silver owners to check their plated colour code and reply - PLEASE!  :blubber:

Gonz, when you get home you might want to post that last request in an appropriately named thread...(bit lost in here) :winker:
