For you information and Steve of course...    Last night my super fast broadband from BT dropped through the floor, I mean REALLY dropped such that web pages were takiing several minutes to load and then try to do anything like get a speed test NO BLOODY CHANCE...   This began about 5'ish and was still like that when I hit the sack around 11:30'ish.   It's back this morning, not quite as fast, but fast enough for the BT speed test to give it a green tick.

I obviously googled it and was disappointed to discover that this is not a rare event.  The complainants on the BT forums where furious with the poor response and lack of information.

I clicked the HELP button on MY ACCOUNT and when it took me to the speed test it dismissed me stating that all was a OK.

I wanted to ask when I would get my refund as they were in dereliction of the contract and had not supplied me with either catch up TV nor internet services.   Who do I demand my refund from ?????????????????????

I shall explore further, watch this space   :blubber: :blubber: :blubber:

I've been offered this super duper fibre bb but after reading the experiences of users on the bt forum i'm resisting at the momrnt.

My current deal has another 10 months and as i seem to get a consistent 5-8  which does me..

Can watch films via web and no buffering.

I am lucky - I am on Virgin cable and get consistent download speeds in the range 47 to 62 Mbps

I can't really complain about my ADSL 2 connection, it does everything I want, can play HD stuff in real time. I probably helps that I'm the only one using it.

Don't have fibre round here yet but cable runs past my house. Don't need either as yet.

Just watching the cricket via internet, Aussies now 100-5.

Oh Phil I'd love a virgin, I wouldn't wear a suicide vest for one though....    Oh ya mean Richard Virgin...  Nah it was a one off 'I hope'....   I now believe they throttled me back, I was running two TV boxes and some other stuff, oh I dunno really.
Bottom line is, when my time is done I will be making the call saying I can get a better deal elsewhere and see what they offer at customer retentions.  As it is I get their sports channels so I am ok for now   :victory: :victory: :victory:
