Hi everyone

found the forum while googling a few things. I've just bought a 2007 SR.

Off to read up about service intervals!

Welcome ewokracing.

Every 12 months or 15,000 kilometres (whichever comes first) unless you are "racing" it ... :whistler:

Some do interims at 7,500 kms but I can't see the need if you are using a good oil. Many of us on here supply our own.

I put Castrol Edge Titanium 5W-30 fully synthetic in the wife's 2.0 Petrol CW which is not that dear if you get it on special. Shell Helix Ultra is another good one that is value for money when on special.

A semi Synthetic is adequate, but a fully synthetic is better  :goodjob:

Cheers Dazzler.

I had a flick through the service book, it's had ad hoc services, with the last one done by an independent chain at 60,000 ish.

I would have thought 75,000 would be a big service, but looking at the guide it looks like it is just a minor checkup.

I like synthetic oils too, I usually stock up on them for the bike and car when someone's having a sale!

From memory 90k is the timing belt.....That's gonna cost ya....especially if you use Hyundai!

:welcum: ewokracing, yes like others have said, all your majors are at the 30-60-90 so on so on,also as beerman pointed out that one is timing belt time for the petrol's(big dollar service) as the car is a 2007,Warranty is not an issue,if you are mechanically minded I'd be doing the servicing myself or going to your local Mech if he/she is a decent one,far cheaper than going back to Hy

Plus if she's an auto that needs a service at 90k too.....

Nah, we don't have auto's in this house. (Actually we do, but I didn't buy it!)

Pleasantly surprised to find the i30 uses the Ryco Z79A filter. Now I have 3 cars which all use the same filter. Winning!
