I have had a K&N filter in my modified commodore for years,without an issue,but having said this,I would not use one in either of my I30's yet because of the possible warranty issues,secondly I am not 100% sure you would get any benefit(other than not having to continually buy a new air filter every 30 thou K's)once my two are out of warranty I wouldn't hesitate to use a K&N filter,but they like all air filters need continual monitoring and maintenance and if you screw up the maintenance you COULD possibly do serious damage to your engine
