Hi Andy

The lights will stay on if the switch is on sidelight or dipped headlight position, the only time they are off is in off position or in auto position.

Cheers

My lights go off if I remove the key then open the drivers door.

The BCM should switch the lights off when you key off and open the door. If not, check if any other functions are acting strangely such as the interior light. In most cases if that is happening the BCM is not getting a correct signal from somewhere so it doesn't know that you've taken the key out of the ignition or opened the door.

If you get out of the car and the lights stay on, have the dealer have a look at it, because that's not right.
