HmmmSo Hyundai say it's a quote "one off situation", yet it has been a known recall on the Veloster and there is more and more evidence of the ix35 with panoramic sunroof in the 2010/11 MY being in at UK dealers with owners querying the cracking noises they are hearing from the sunroof area when driving. My friends ix35 is currently at the dealer for the 5th time having this "investigated" despite it being "fixed" the previous 4 times!
Hi all, on news tonight a family claiming there glass roof in there late model ( looked like GD i30. they said the roof just exploded glass went everywhere , while they were driving, all i saw was part of it & the shattered roof. think claiming it was fatly?
Hence the reason,I would never have a glass sunroof,I seen an accident on one of our highways, bloke was speared through the leg when his roof failed(which was to be expected) when he rolled his I30 with a glass roof,no safety features in the world are going to save you from a tree branch coming through a now open roof.
I for the life of me can't see how a glass area in a car that size could be considered safe, metal flexes expands and contracts at far different rates than glass, anything can set these explosions off,can you tell I'm no fan of glass roof's
I wouldn't want that glass roof either, for security reasons.Another thing; Doesn't it get really hot in a car with all glass roof, especially in a country where it's that warm (OZ).. I guess it would demand a more powerfull aircon as well to keep the car cool...
Just crack the 'roof open a little bit and most of the hot air escapes.
... By the time I've left the front hate at work, ...
