 Stand-up comedian Jason Manford won over gig-goers when he ordered a round of drinks for an 835-strong crowd – because he was stuck in traffic.

On Twitter, Manford wrote: “Temp traffic lights on A628 over Pennines - been stuck in traffic for nearly 2 hours!! Show in Lincoln will start at 8pm instead of 7.30!”
